IT ALL GOES TOGETHER

Enough is enough… If we could only deeply reflect on the production of every day’s Goods, we may come to realise that “we” are producing enough, and there is enough stuff to satisfy our needs. On the other hand, harsh exploitative capitalism is hungry every day. Manufacturers introduce new products and solutions with endless variations of the same. The “Design” discipline is allured by trends and temporary fashions that leave a tragic imprint on our land… Can we think pragmatically? Can we form solutions to liberate us from illusional e-commerce’s and object welfare zones, where all needs flow in a digital stream?
Storquestudios would like to propose a design solution that is entrenched in our research and ethos, and is 100% derivative of the current consumer market. Its form and look is represented by the fluxation of material used in specialised consumer requests; this is custom made furniture. We would like to introduce REEmix, a simple modular system that is nonchalantly constructed from all possible surplus and leftover material; the negative space in bespoke word. MDF, CHIP-BOARD, VALCHROMAT, PLYWOOD for example, are blended together to form utilitarian blocks.
Functional in nature, these building blocks are very adaptable as storage systems, and are a playful solution to a serious problem.
This frisky concept; where customers are purchasing a ‘well made’ object with no control of the final look, promotes a new model, a sense of normality where utilitarianism and responsible behaviour overcomes aesthetic doctrine.
The eclecticism introduced here is not predestined to any form of trend or style. It is a form of waste management, a form of awareness in goods consumption, and is a way of thinking around the modern cultural dilemma of ‘identity-building’ through the
‘new’.
