DUAL NATURE OF LIGHT
In quantum physics, the “dual nature of light” refers to the concept of light behaving as both a wave and particle simultaneously, and depends on it’s experimental conditions, which is a phenomenon known as “wave-particle duality”. Whats going to hapen if we see human body as the “negative space” of a shopping mannequin? Is ther any analogy to this concept of light?
Our products are often based on materials that are no longer attached to their original purpose or intention… Every material has its own unique value, whether it comes from an object that has somehow become useless, or is a piece of plastic, plywood or other source of surplus material.
Taking care of unwanted objects and challenging materials, generates cooperation and surprisingly new results. Presented here are prototype models from the lamp series “Positive Light”. Made from recycled mannequins found on the street – this project reinvents wasted products, transforming them into regenerated bodies of light. The mannequin’s physical presence and the body’s relationship to it, both contribute to a fuller understanding of the “form” in the space.
